Carrie Bachner
In early 2010, Carrie L. Bachner assumed the position of CEO of a National Security Firm, Mission Concepts located in Old Town Alexandria. Carrie has trademarked the Mission Concepts as a general management consulting firm that specializes in the policy, process and procedure of threat mitigation. As the CEO, she has guided the firm into minority, veteran and woman owned small business status. Spending nearly four years at the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Legislative Affairs, Carrie served as the career senior legislative advisor to the Under Secretary of Intelligence and Analysis/Chief Intelligence Officer, Charles E. Allen. In her role, Carrie worked closely with legislators to elevate and implement issues of concern to the Intelligence Community and the Department. In addition to intelligence work, she represented the Department’s cyber security, emergency communications and risk management initiatives to Congress. Prior to her work at the Department, Carrie was a Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force with tours in the continental US, Latin America and the Caribbean. Carrie is a graduate of the University of North Florida where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science where she developed an interest in politics and legislation and went on to receive her Masters Degree in Public Administration from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. As a business owner working in the National Capitol Region, her sense of timing and understanding of the Executive and Legislative Branches make her a value and trusted advisor to several Fortune 500 Companies as well as many senior government leaders.
Carrie is also an adjunct professor at Westwood College in Annandale, Virginia where she teaches policy courses to students in the Criminal Justice domain.
Carrie is a Board Member of the Association of Government Relations Professionals and is an active member of Business Executives for National Security where she sits on the DC Leadership Committee; She is also a participant as a business member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA), National Defense and Industry Association (NDIA), International Association Chiefs of Police (IACP) and supports the Chamber of Commerce in Alexandria, Virginia. Carrie spends her leisure time participating in various marathons and volunteers through her membership at the Junior League of Washington. Carrie lives in the District and a licensed private pilot.
